And the 2015 winners are…

It’s time to announce the 2015 Furniture Flip Design Challenge winners. Drumroll, please!

Trashy to Classy Award, decided by Furniture Flip Committee, is an award given to the thriftiest of designers; designers who created the most value from their raw materials with a whole lot of creativity and elbow grease.

Sally and Jeffrey spent a whole $15.44 on new materials, and created unexpected jaw droppers to benefit Bend Area Habitat for Humanity. This piece of redwood was hanging out by a barn for a decade, and what an awesome idea for a spool! Way to go, Smiths!

People’s Choice Award, decided by the highest number of submitted tickets during the show.

Corie Ball and Larry Heath impressed the audience with their captivating creativity. Yes, the bike clock really works!

Top Design for theme Central Oregon Centric, decided by John Paul

Connell Hull Company‘s wooden rocker has a unique story. With lumber from an old mill and the scraps from a deconstructed chair, this team pulled off a winning design with a lot of local spirit.

Top Design for theme Ugly Duckling Transformation, decided by Samantha Albert DJ from Clear 101.7fm

Corie Ball and Larry Heath win again with their Ugly Duckling entry. We get boring, old, beat up, coffee tables all day at ReStore. By adding paper bags and epoxy, this table is one of a kind. Corie even did this for her kitchen counter tops! That’s resourceful, don’t you think!

Top Design for theme Creatively Repurposed, decided by Kristi Teasdale

Connell Hull Company wowed guest Judge Kristi by “flipping” a gross, rusty, weathered, grill into a elegant succulent pot. Who would have thought! Giving junk a new life is what repurposing is all about.

Judges Choice Award for best in show, decided by Furniture Flip Committee

Stemach Design & Architecture‘s entries were staged beautifully, were practical and silly, and exhibited what can be done with a little money, and a lot of scraps. In total, they only spent $23.05 to complete these works of art.
